    Obituary:
"Kathryn Regan Williamson Benton, of Ansonville, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at home, surrounded by her dogs, Rocky, Josie, and Happy; her cat, Trouble; and her bird, Sunshine.

Kathryn’s husband, Herbert Wilson Benton, Jr. had gone on ahead on August 30, 2021, so he was waiting for her.

Her parents were the late Katie Lee Regan and Joseph Manoe Williamson, Jr. of Robeson, Co., N.C. Born on July 4, 1950, Kathryn graduated from Littlefield High School, Lumberton, N.C. She attended UNC Greensboro and graduated from Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, N.C. with degrees in Forestry and Business.

She was a Forest Ranger in Durham County for a few years before becoming employed by Perdue Farms and later by Smithfield Foods, where she worked until her retirement.

Kathryn is survived by her sister, Jane Williamson of Selma, N.C., and her niece, Diana Wilson of Erwin, N.C., who loved her dearly. There is a sister, Susan Williamson of St. Pauls, N.C. a brother, Joseph Williamson III of Robeson Co., N.C., and a niece, Elizabeth Mitchell of Pine Level, N.C., none of whom had been in touch with her for years. Her husband, Herby, left a family whom she loved very much: her sister-in-law, Carol Black of Ansonville and her family, her brother-in-law, Walter Benton of Lilesville and his family, and especially her step sons, Larry (Jessica) Benton of Wadesboro. N.C., and Christopher Benton of Lilesville. N.C. and their children, the grandchildren, who all meant so much to her. She felt especially close to Cameron.

Kathryn was a talented and creative person who loved her home and yard. She loved animals and always surrounded herself with their love, heartbeats and companionship. She appreciated and collected pottery. She was a practical person who loved the Earth and believed in taking good care of it. She loved the woods and the water and those who live there, too. She was a good listener and offered sound advice. She enjoyed having everyone come to visit and break bread together. Until his death, she and Herby spent most of their free time together and enjoyed lake outings, road trips, visiting family, searching for collectibles and going out to eat. They loved and valued most having gatherings with family and friends.

Because of the resurgence of Covid-19 cases, and the fact that there remain so many people who are not yet vaccinated, a celebration of Kathryn’s and Herbert’s lives will be held at a later date, to be determined.

The arrangements are in the care of Leavitt Funeral Home of Wadesboro, N.C. Online condolences may be made at www.leavittfh.com.

  • Biography*: Air Force - 4 years.

    Occupation: Sales Rep.

    From - https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/charlotte-nc/william-mcguirt-10966595
"William Regan McGuirt, 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diann McGuirt, his children, Brad (wife Christy) and Regan (wife Stacie), and his grandchildren; Carson, Kate, Claire, Brady and Coen.

Not only was Bill a proud husband, father and grandfather, he was also a very proud and patriotic American who served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was devoted to his church family at Albermarle Road Presbyterian Church, where he faithfully served for over 46 years. Bill loved without reserve and gave of himself without hesitation.

After forty-plus years as a successful Insurance and Financial Planning Advisor, his family forced him into retirement as they literally moved his desk out of his office as he was still working. During this time, Bill enjoyed all the benefits retirement had to offer.

Bill was a lover of shoes, gum and Chapstick. He loved planting and gardening and always had the very best planters. Home Depot visits were a favorite as well. Bill took both piano and guitar lessons for years, but could only manage to strum a few chords and hit a few keys. He was definitely a music lover, although better at listening than playing. He had a love for animals (especially cats, but was never allowed to own any). He enjoyed his granddog babies and babysat them at any opportunity.

Every Christmas Bill would get his daughters-in-law really good bottles of wine...he would run out on Christmas Eve to get them wrapped. Bill only shopped on Christmas Eve. This got on Grammy's nerves, but they were always the best gifts. He loved old cars and going to car shows. Bill loved the beach, but hated sunscreen with a passion. He loved a cold beer or a good glass of wine, and he loved to eat slow and savor every bite, while appreciating good music.

Bill is the son of the late William Lee & Amelia Janette McGuirt.

A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Sunday, October 16th at 2:00pm at Albermarle Road Presbyterian Church 6740 Albemarle Rd Charlotte, NC 28212. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Bill will be laid to rest with military honors at Suncrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.

Donations may be made to Albermarle Road Presbyterian Church, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

    David Howell Regan
    July 16, 2015

David Howell Regan, 80, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at his home in Reno, NV after a brief illness.

Dave is survived by his children, Lisa Regan Browner (Todd) of Nashville, TN and Col (Ret.) Michael David Regan (Lorraine) of Alexandria, VA; along with his granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Browner and Katherine Lee Browner of Nashville and Aurora Dawn Lewis of Alexandria. He also leaves his sister, Reid Regan Morrill of Phoenix, AZ and several nephews and nieces: Michael Morrill, David Morrill, Ellen Morrill Poultridge, Stacy Morrill Bowdren, Susan Morrill and Carol Morrill Selby.

Born in Atlanta, GA, the son of David Reid and Mary Frances (Golson) Regan, he would later move to several cities in his adult life, spending the majority of his youth in Selma, AL. He attended Stark University School in Montgomery, Alabama but returned to Selma to graduate from Albert G. Parrish High School in 1952. He attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) during which he was active in Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC), Scabbard and Blade, and Arnold Air Society.

Serving in the Air Force for ten years, Dave flew B-47 Stratojets and B-57 Camberras as a pilot and had over 75 combat missions in Viet Nam. He was the recipient of several medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross. In 1967, he became an airline pilot for United Airlines, retiring 30 years later. He was an active member of the Airline Pilots Association during that period.

Dave had many interests throughout his life, but the ones most cherished were college football (following his beloved Auburn Tigers), coin collecting, golf and building models. He was known for his sense of humor and great storytelling. He even wrote poems and songs, the most memorable for a high school reunion. Dave was passionate and loyal to his friends and the things he loved most. The three words that would sum up his life would be: Auburn, Military and Flying. David's place of interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
