  Death of Octogenarian
  
  News reached here yesterday morning of the death of Mr. Wright Pitman, which occurred at his home in Wisharts Township Friday night. He was eighty-two years of age, and for several months has been in a precarious condition. Mr. Pittman was one of the most prominent citizens in the community in which he lived and was held in high esteem with his friends. He was one of the oldest men in Wishart’s township. There survive him, his wife and three children. He is the grandfather of Miss Jennie Pitman, who is visiting here. The remains were interred in the family cemetery Sunday morning at 10 o’clock in the presence of a crowd of sorrying friends.

6. Colonel Eli³ Wishart (Jonathan?², William¹). Eli was born on 11 Feb 1813 at Robeson County, NC. He married Mary Ann Storm on 11 Jan 1832 at Robeson County, NC. Marriage record. He married Delaney Warwick on 8 May 1852 at Robeson County, NC. Marriage record. Eli died on 19 Aug 1893 at age 80. His body was interred.
He was a Colonel of Militia prior to the Civil War and represented Robeson County, NC in the Legislature in 1860. He resided in 1840 at Robeson County, NC. 1840 census. He resided in 1850 at Robeson County, NC. southern division, 1850 census, dwelling #341. A Harriet Storm (age 26) was living with them (Mary's sister?). He resided in 1870 at Wishart, Robeson County, NC. 1870 census. He resided in 1880 at Wishart, Robeson County, NC. 1880 census.
