Julia Elizabeth Seaman was born on 26 Jan 1919 at Chattanooga, Hamilton County, TN. She died on 20 Mar 2009 at Pikeville, Bledsoe County, TN, at age 90. GRAYSVILLE Julia Elizabeth Leonard, 90, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away at an area hospital on Friday, March 20, 2009, surrounded by all her loved ones.
Julia was born on Jan. 26, 1919, to Jules Seaman, a Czechoslovakian immigrant who had come to America to make a better life for himself, and Esther Gross of Chattanooga.
She loved music and majored in music while in college. She attended and was the pianist for Brayton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles Spurgeon; and parents, Jules and Esther Seaman.
She is survived and will be missed by her children; sons, Charles (Julie) Leonard Jr., of Cookeville, Tenn., Donald (Lois) Leonard, of Crossville, Tenn.; daughters, Nancy Elizabeth Williams, Cleveland, Tenn., and Marilyn Jane (Thom) Williams, Pikeville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. CDT Monday, March 23, at beautiful Greenwood Cemetery atop Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga with Brother Dennis McChargue officiating.
The family will begin receiving friends at 5 p.m. CDT today.
