She was the only daughter of Daniel and Annie Mariah Powers Regan. Her mother died when she was an infant and she was taken by Neill and Caroline Buie and reared as one of their children. She lived for others never thinking of self. She was a consistent member of Philadelphus Presbyterian Church.
