When Frank was about age 2 or 3, a fire was in the fireplace in their home in Fair Bluff, NC. His mother, Irene, was using a tobacco stick to poke the fire. The end of the stick was burning and Frank thought that it was pretty. He took the burning tobacco stick into the room where his sister's Lois's bed was located. The stick fell on the bed and set the bed on fire.
Frank is listed as Surgical Technician, 861, WWII, South Philippines. He earned the Bronze Star. Military service from 21 Sep., 1944 induction to 19 Apr., 1946 separation. His common name was 'Frank.'
